Product Information
Continuous Tow
PYRON® continuous tow fibers are oxidized / stabilized PAN fibers (OPAN) that are inherently fire resistant, thermally stable, exhibit excellent resistance to chemicals and solvents and are electrically nonconductive. Available crimped or uncrimped, PYRON® continuous tow is suitable for stretch breaking into yarn, milling into pulp, chopping into short fibers or crimping & cutting into staple fibers for nonwoven or yarn spinning.

Staple Fiber *
PYRON® crimped staple fibers are oxidized / stabilized PAN fibers (OPAN) that are inherently fire resistant, thermally stable, exhibit excellent resistance to chemicals and solvents and are electrically nonconductive. Available in three denier sizes and various cut lengths, PYRON® staple fibers produce the highest quality nonwoven fabrics and the finest spun yarns on the market today.

Fabrics
All fabrics are produced from 100% PYRON® yarn. They have a high LOI%, good strength properties, an acceptance of adhesives for lamination, and a proficiency in cut & sew applications. The knit fabric has superior performance as a base layer apparel in high TPP factor required applications. The leno weave scrim is useful for additional strength without the sacrifice of flame resistant performance.
Felts *
Zoltek’s needlepunched felt is produced from PYRON® oxidized PAN fibers. It acts as a superior thermal, fire, and spark barrier, and can be blended with other strengthening fibers such as aramids. It is often used for thermal / acoustical insulation in aerospace, as a fireproofing barrier in automotive, or as a heat and fire-resistant barrier for a variety of other high-temperature industrial applications.
