Corvette's carbon hood creates shock and awe

Zoltek's Take: This article does a great job of explaining the process for making a body component out of carbon fiber.

As noted in the article, the hood of the new Corvette ZR1 is made with Zoltek carbon fiber.

We've stated before that we believe the automotive industry will be the largest user of carbon fiber in the future. While the Corvette ZR1 is a high performance, high price vehicle, we believe this is a step in the right direction for carbon fiber's growing use in the automotive industry and that carbon fiber will find its way into higher volume, lower priced vehicles.
