China Southern selects Goodrich brakes for 787s

China Southern Airlines Ltd. announced on May 1 has selected Goodrich Corp. (Charlotte, N.C.) to supply wheels and electrically-actuated brakes for the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. China Southern has 10 aircraft on order and is scheduled to start taking deliveries of the new aircraft in 2008.

Brian Brandewie, president, Aircraft Wheels and Brakes for Goodrich said in a statement, “We are very pleased to be selected by China Southern to supply wheels and electric brakes for the airline’s new fleet of Dreamliners. This selection complements the long standing relationship our two companies enjoy. We look forward to working with China Southern as we support them in the launch of this successful aircraft.�

Goodrich’s Aircraft Wheels and Brakes division has been a designer, developer and manufacturer of commercial, military, regional and business aircraft wheels and brakes for 60 years. The division also provides aftermarket service and critical spares to the world’s major airlines.
